The training takes 7 days and costs EUR 445 (season 2012/2013).
Requirements: entrants must be at least aged 17 in the year of training and have completed Primary education.
You will also need two small passport size photographs. Please note: all participants aged 17 will only receive their licence and certificate when they turn 18!
The price of the snowboard instructor training includes:
• All necessary literature,
• Certificate issued by the Faculty of Sports,
• Blue ZUTS card,
• Snowboarding Instructor Level I. patch,
• 20 hours of theory training,
• 40 hours of practical training on the snow,
• Video analysis,
• Taking the exam.
The price of training does not include:
• Ski pass (7 days costs around EUR 150)
• Accommodation (6 days half-board on Krvavec costs around EUR 160)
• Travelling expenses
Content of the Snowboarding Instructor Level I. Training:
• Comprehensive overview of snowboarding equipment (set-up, maintenance, protective equipment),
• Snowboarding basics,
• Basic turning and advance turning,
• Carving,
• Ollie,
• Box,
• Freestyle basics,
• Mountain hazards,
• Teaching didactics and methodology, as well as covering all other topics each snowboarding instructor needs.
Method of work:
Each day, practical training on the snow is held between 8:30 a.m. and 15:30 p.m., with half an hour set aside for lunch. Between 16:00 p.m. and 19:00 p.m., snowboarding courses and video analysis of participants’ performance are held. The exam is scheduled for the last day, day 7. On the morning of the exam day, first the written exam is held (1 hour), followed by the practical exam, which should be finished by 14:00 -depending on the number of students.

Snowboarding Instructors Level I. can teach snowboarding only in Slovenia. Snowboarding Instructors Level I. are eligible for several discounts when purchasing snowboarding equipment, and which usually amount up to 30%. Snowboarding Instructors Level I. should also notice great improvements in their boarding technique and so enjoy boarding even more.
