Snowboard instructor level III. training

Ski teachera association of Slovenia has yet to invite applications for Snowboard Instructor Level III. training. The details presented below should be used strictly for information purposes only and represent details of last year's invitation for applications.

Practical part I.: 23.3. to 29.3.2009 (Vogel)
Practical part II.: 2.4. to 8.4.2009 (Rogla)
Exam: 9.4.2009 (Rogla)

Requirements:

• 18 years of age or older
• Completed Level II
• Completed secondary education (5th level or higher)
• Active cooperation within your snowboard club (basic organisation or snowboard school)
• Command of at least one major language
• Certificate of practice within your snowboard club
• Paid ZUTS membership fees – blue card and IVSI licence


Theory part (70 hours):
• History of snowboarding
• Snowboard equipment and its’ settings
• Competition rules and organisation
• Special didactics
• Mountain hazards
• Snowboard biomechanics
• Basic theories of training
• Student paper
• Code of Ethics of ski professionals
• Snowboarding and winter tourism
• Basic theory of instructing
• Basic psychology
• Snowboarding injuries
• Snow park, etc.

Practical part (110 hours):
• Technical elements of Slovenian snowboarding teaching
• Choosing the optimal methodical procedures and determining individual irregularities in the snowboarding teaching process
• Freestyle, box, rail, halfpipe, various jumps
• Preparation and maintenance of snowboarding equipment
• Snowboard cross, freeride, snow park
• Setting competition courses for younger categories
• Preparing the snowboard for competitions
• Maintenance of snow park infrastructure
• Carving elements with an alpine board
• Introduction to technical elements of alpine skiing
• Introduction to technical elements of freestyle skiing
• Teaching practice

Requirements for successfully completing the training:
• Completed theory exam – student paper
• Completed practical exam
• Completed performance before others
• Completed exam in giant slalom and snowboard cross


Estimated price: EUR 1,300.
Accommodation, ski passes and transportation costs are borne by the candidate. However, the snowboarding committee will try to obtain favourable discounts.
